Harimohan lives in Hyderabad, a city where he grew up. He studied in All Saints High School and St. Alphonso's Junior College before graduating in Civil Engineering from the Osmania University College of Engineering. In his second year at engineering college he represented Hyderabad in the Ranji Trophy, bagging five wickets on his debut against Andhra. He completed his post graduation in Management from Osmania University and represented his alma mater in the Inter-varsity tournaments during all his years at the campus, even leading the varsity team creditably in 1988.
Post civil engineering and MBA from Osmania University, Hyderabad, Harimohan worked in the corporate sector as a marketing professional and as an investment banker for 13 years before deciding to divide his time between writing fiction, playing league cricket on Sundays, reading, listening to music, meeting friends and travelling.
Among his cricketing memories, the ones he prides himself most are on being a member of the Hyderabad cricket team during 1985-87 which won the Ranji Trophy, being a member of the Osmania University team which won the South Zone Universities Championships in 1991, being a member South Zone Universities team which won the Vizzy Trophy in 1991 and being skipper of the Marredpally Cricket Club which won the HCA Sunday league championship in 1993 and 1997.
